Director Pierre Woodman sat behind his desk, looking bored as he scanned through the resume of the next actress he was going to interview. Angelique Lapiedra walked into his office, a hopeful smile on her face.

“Hi Pierre, thank you for seeing me today,” Angelique said, sitting down opposite him.

Pierre didn’t even bother to look up from her resume. “So, you’re here for the casting, right?”

“Yes,” Angelique replied, her smile fading a little.

Pierre leaned back in his chair and folded his arms. “So, Angelique, what makes you think you’re right for this role?”

“I have a lot of experience in the industry, and I think I have the right look for the part,” Angelique said confidently.

“Oh really?” Pierre said, with a smirk. “And what part would that be exactly?”

Angelique hesitated, unsure of what to say. “Um, I’m not sure, you haven’t told me yet.”

Pierre laughed. “Exactly. So how can you possibly know you’re right for the part?”

Angelique shifted uncomfortably in her seat. “Well, I just assumed that you had a specific role in mind when you called me in for the casting.”

Pierre chuckled. “No, no, no, Angelique. You see, I like to keep things open-ended. That way, I can see how flexible you are as an actress. I might decide to cast you in a completely different role than the one you think you’re auditioning for.”

Angelique looked puzzled. “But how can I prepare for the audition if I don’t even know what role I’m auditioning for?”

Pierre shrugged. “That’s not my problem. I just want to see what you can do on the spot. It’s called talent, Angelique.”

Angelique sighed. “Okay, well, can you at least give me a hint about what kind of role you’re looking for?”

Pierre leaned forward and whispered conspiratorially. “Honestly, Angelique, I’m not really looking for any specific kind of role. I just want to see if you’re willing to do whatever it takes to make it in this industry. And by whatever it takes, I mean whatever it takes.”

Angelique looked at him with a mixture of shock and disgust. “Are you serious? You want me to do anything?”

Pierre leaned back and shrugged. “Hey, I’m just trying to make great art here. And if that means pushing the boundaries a little bit, well, that’s just the price of fame and fortune.”

Angelique stood up, ready to leave. “I’m sorry, Pierre, but I don’t think I want to be a part of your twisted idea of ‘art’. I think I’ll take my chances elsewhere.”

Pierre chuckled. “Oh, come on, Angelique. Don’t be so uptight. I was just joking around. You have a great look, and I think we could do great things together. Just relax and let me take care of everything.”

Angelique shook her head. “No, thank you. I think I’ll pass.”

Pierre shrugged. “Suit yourself. I’m sure there are plenty of other actresses out there who would kill for the chance to work with me.”

Angelique walked out of the room, feeling disgusted and disappointed. She knew that she would never work with Pierre Woodman again. And she was okay with that.
